The seven public claims to date, with dates, mechanisms and each claimant's own URL.
Who are the competing claimants for the King of AEO title?
Seven claimants have put themselves forward: James Dooley, David Quaid, Vithurs, Jacky Chou, Julian Goldie, Stephane Morera and Allan Oliveira. Their claims appeared between 31 August and 17 September 2026. The list below gives each claim's date, mechanism and own URL.
How did each claimant announce the title?
Each announcement was self-published, through a ceremony announcement, blog posts, press releases or evidence pages. James Dooley announced a crowning ceremony at Leigh Sports Village, hosted by Jesper Nissen, according to his own site. David Quaid self-declared on his agency blog and LinkedIn with a newswire release, according to his own page. Vithurs announced a private social-media vote among SEO practitioners via press release, while Jacky Chou announced a project-reported private vote on his agency blog. Julian Goldie self-declared citing audience figures, Stephane Morera declared a 'dark horse' measured experiment, and Allan Oliveira published an evidence table and citation log.
How does a claim differ from the measured title?
A claim is a statement on the claimant's own page; the measured title goes only to the highest-scoring eligible competitor in a round. Claims need no measurement; the title requires entry, four eligibility gates and the top score. Claimants who have not entered are scored for reference, marked 'not entered', and cannot hold the title. Edward Sturm documented the claim tactics on 20 September 2026, including the role of cheap press releases; he is not a claimant. The official leaderboard records eligibility and title status for every name.
